Hello, Gem.

How’s your heart? I pray it’s thriving. Let me tell you what’s been on mine.

A Love Letter to Every Kind of Mom x K.M.

★

Mother’s Day carries a pressure that flowers and cards can’t always fix. For some, it’s brunch reservations and heartfelt hugs. For others, it’s quiet grieving, a full-body ache, or an empty seat at the table. Whether you’re celebrating joyfully or barely holding it together, this letter is for you.

At SheIsTreasure, we honor the fullness of womanhood, and today we’re naming the complexity of Mother’s Day.

To the mothers raising children, this day is yours.

We see you in every lunch packed, every bedtime story read half-asleep, and every hard decision made with love. Your work is sacred. We hope someone spoils you today, or at least lets you take a long, uninterrupted nap. You deserve softness. And you deserve to be held, too.

To the women longing to become mothers, this day is yours too.

Infertility, pregnancy loss, and the silent struggle of “trying” aren’t often acknowledged in the pastel-colored commercials. But we see you. As therapist and author Dr. Ayanna Abrams reminds us, “Grief and joy can sit at the same table. One doesn’t cancel out the other.”

You are not broken or alone.

To the mothers who have lost children, our hearts are with you.

There are no words for the kind of pain you carry. And yet, you carry it. We honor your strength, tears, memories, and your continuing love that defies death. Your motherhood doesn’t disappear because of loss; it deepens.

To those grieving their mothers, this day can feel like a wound.

May your memories comfort you. May you speak her name freely, with laughter and tears. And if the relationship was complicated, may you find peace in your boundaries, healing, and truth.

To the women who mother in other ways, you matter.

Maybe you mentor, raise nieces and nephews, teach, or lead with a nurturing spirit. You don’t need a birth certificate to prove your identity or impact. As Tricia Hersey, founder of The Nap Ministry, reminds us: “Caring for others is resistance. Resting is resistance. You are doing sacred work.”

To the women unsure if they want to become mothers, this space is yours too.

You don’t have to justify your journey. Choosing yourself is a valid and powerful act.

This Mother’s Day, we hope you feel seen.

We hope you make room for both joy and sadness.

And we hope you know you’re not alone; we've got you!

From all of us at SheIsTreasure, we’re wrapping you in love, no matter what this day looks like for you.

Gem, send this to a woman who may need it. We’re here to remind you all that you’re an immense treasure, always.

Until next time, I’m sending you lots of love. - K.M.
